We are a full service, acute care hospital, and is one of the most established facilities in New York City. As a full-service hospital, we offer a range of health care resources, scope of services includes cardiology, neurology, emergency and trauma services, air ambulance, women and children's services, orthopedics, medical/surgical, oncology, and critical/intensive care.!
We currently have an exciting full time position Nur! se Supervisor Continuum Care. You will supervise the utilization management in accordance with the hospital UR plan, in addition to discharge planning, social service, and insurance denial/appeal process of the departments. You will also be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of programs/processes necessary for the daily operations of the departments.
Must have BSN, NYS RN license, current New York Department of Health certification as a Patient Review Instrument (PRI) Assessor. Five (5) years in-depth experience inclusive of clinical patient care and acute care utilization management, discharge planning, clinical social work and insurance denial/appeal management.
Skills needed: Understanding of utilization management, discharge planning, insurance denial/appeal, and social service operations within the acute care hospital setting. Clinical knowledge of standards of practice for patient care. Knowledge of insurance denial and appeals p! rocess. Knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms and managed care issues. Organizational, priorization, and problem solving skills.
