A growing health care consulting firm in New York, NY ! is seeking Clinical Appeals Nurses to provide support to the Appeals Management Process. This is an outstanding opportunity to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package and grow your career in appeals management.
Responsibilities:
Prepare professional, effective clinical appeals in response to managed care, governmental or RAC denials for hospital clients. Utilize industry guidelines, Medicare Benefit Policy Manual guidelines, national coverage determinations, local coverage determinations and best practice standards. Participate in telephonic Administrative Law Judge Hearings and present oral arguments for reversing Medicare denials.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent Experience in writing clinical appeal letters At least 3 years of case management/concurrent review/utilization management experience At least 4 years of clinical experience in acute care setting in medical/surgical nursing, pediatric nurs! ing, critical care or psychiatric nursing and proficiency in m! edical record review Payer case management experience is a definite plus Superior written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word is a must
