The Clinical Assistant will perform various duties under the supervision and/or direction of a Unit Director and Registered Nurses. The three A principal duties of this position are: Clerical:! Performs the receptionist activities and carries out clerical duties on the patient care unit; functions as the center of communication for areas assigned. Aide: Performs various duties assisting Registered Nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital. Technician/Phlebotomist: Operates an Electrocardiograph machine to record electromotive variations and impulses of the heart for use in the diagnosis of heart disorder. Collects blood and other patient samples. Provides the essential direct link between the patient and testing service both in providing interpersonal contact and technical competence. Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent work experience including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. 2. Previous experience as a nurse aide or have satisfactorily completed a nurse aide training program and/or p! revious experience as a unit clerk or other relevant clinical ! experience. 3. Willingness to use positive communication skill while performing job duties. 4. Ability to perform detailed assignments, work under pressure, and relate to patients, hospital staff, physicians, and visitors. 5. Ability to use basic computer skills. 6. Willingness to attend and complete CVPH education requirements satisfactorily. 7. Meets requirement for pre-employment screening and physical exam. As applicable, the individual is willing to participate in education needed to care for the patient population being served.
