Description: Weill Cornell Medical College is currently interviewing Account Administrator right now, this vacancy will be placed in New York. Detailed specification about this vacancy opportunity kindly read the description below. Position Activities

  • Responsible for charge entry: collect and maintain super bills; work with physicians, nurses and support staff to ensure all services and supplies are billed accurately. Ensure the correct charges are entered on super bills, payable diagnoses are used, physicians signatures are present, and the correct ICD9 codes have been entered; and calculate units and charges.
  • Reviews documents for accuracy and completeness; obtains the necessary billing information and backup; verifies patient information; acts as liaison between primary care providers offices and specialists for all managed care patients; and maintains files on patient billing information.
  • Collects all necessary payments at time of service for all patients; collects co-payments and insurance forms. Handles and processes cash, credit card payments and checks; and generates a receipt for all patient visits.
  • Works with the Physician Organization Billing Office on patient inquiries; and serves as liaison between patients, insurance companies and the Division.
  • Inputs and updates charges, demographic and insurance information via patient scheduling system - Flowcast; codes diagnosis appropriately, prepares batch proofs and verifies for accuracy; submits payments to the Department of Medicine; delivers money to cashier and completes weekly proof sheet for credit care reconciliations.
  • Utilizes the missing charge reports to ensure charges have been entered accurately; reviews Transaction Editing System (TES) edits daily; and makes recommendations in writing off accounts.
  • Types correspondence relating to billing activities; and prepares own correspondence on routine matters.
  • Assists with pre-certifications with managed care companies.
  • Assists with the patient check out process - consisting of time of service payment; and scheduling diagnostic testing.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma required with at least two years of experience in a medical practice performing physician billing.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software required, preferable IDX & Flowcast.
  • Knowledge of third party healthcare reimbursement regulations - CPT and ICD-9 coding.
Highly Desired Requirements

  • Associates degree and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Skill and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of billing software.
  • Billing skills - knowledge of ICD-9, CPT coding.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
