Hospital for Special Surgery is currently seeking an experienced Senior Claims Analyst to address claims payment issues from various payers. The successful candidate will understand health benefits plans, pay exceptional attention to detail and handle multiple projects simultaneously while working with all facets of the organization. They will also be adept in current technologies and changes in the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
Develop the overall rate appeal strategy for the organizat! ion
Lead Joint Operating Committee meetings: develo! p agendas, prepare summaries and report on results and production
Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports and statistics on rate appeal activity and resolution; present reports to senior management
Interact with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership; manage relationships with vendors
Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures for claims appeal flow; develop and maintain Access database to track appeals flow & train staff how to use it
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory matters and payer payment policies; develop internal policies and workflows to administer complex rules/changes
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree
3+ years of professional experience in a healthcare setting
Expert knowledge in facility claims & reimbursement methodologies; prior provider/payer experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Access, Word & Excel
