• Masters of Nursing
• BLS/AED Certification from AHA (current)
• NYS Nurse Practitioner License
• NYS Registered Nurse License

Position Requirements: Masters of Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Must have NYS RN & NP License with ANCC Certification in Gerontological Nursing and ANPP Certified Nurse Practitioner. Must have a minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience caring for adult/geriatric patient population. Must poss! ess demonstrated skills in leadership, public relations, teamb! uilding, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
Position Responsibilities: The Director of Nursing/NP of Geriatrics leads and directs the mission, vision and values of patient care services in the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of quality, safe and efficient geriatric nursing care. The Director of Nursing develops, facilitates and supports nursing and interdisciplinary care standards throughout the geriatric service(s) which is aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and philosophy; fosters and demonstrates collaborative relationships with other disciplines; participates as a partner in the geriatric service line, oversees the nursing service's financial planning, implementation and monitoring of operational and capital budgets; collaborates with physicians, consultants, and community agencies to provide service-specific quality and improvement projects that optimize ! staff, patient outcomes and physician satisfaction. As a Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, evidence based geriatric care to older adults and their families.
