As a Clinical Risk Management Director you will direct, plan, organize and evaluate the staff and activities of the comprehensive clinical risk manage! ment program for the Health System to promote patient / employee safety and a culture of safety.
Responsibilities include:
Develops and monitors strategic operating goals and objectives for Clinical Risk Management; and reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action. Creates and applies metrics to measure performance.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, new programs, new initiatives to enhance clinical risk management and patient safety.
Directs 24/7 clinical risk management coverage/consultation for the Health System.
Develops and institutes data collection, management and analysis.
Prepares and presents reports and clinical data analyses, as requested.
Reviews and critiques contracts to mitigate potential clinical risk.
Serves as primary liaison with Faculty Practice Plan/PAAN to review and critique physician contracts, review potential candidate’s loss experience.
Collaborates with intra-dep! artment Claims and Insurance to identify, monitor and report o! n trends, clinical issues and insurance gaps.
Participates in due diligence analysis/investigation of potential acquisitions.
Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports.
Collaborates with Credentialing Department to facilitate Voluntary Attending Physicians Professional Liability issues.
Identifies department and team needs information, equipment and supplies to improve performance.
Collaborates with the Quality and Legal Departments, as needed.
Participates with department peers and senior management in the development, coordination, communication, implementation, and evaluation of operating policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, required.
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience including clinical risk management and management of staff.
