Patient Transporter

Description: St. Joseph's Hospital is in need of Patient Transporter right now, this occupation will be placed in New York. Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and therapists to perfo! rm their duties in an effective manner.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
High school graduate preferred, equivalent or equal-related experience. Prior patient care/handling experience preferred.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Clinical setting. Exposure Class I.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
WORK CONTACT GROUP:
All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, various regulatory and professional agency staff.!
