Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager for one of their high volume, 500+bed acute care hospitals located in the Queens/Long Island, NY vicinity . In this role, you will direct and participate in all of the patie! nt meal service operations utilizing a Room Service program. Responsibilities will include: daily patient meal rounding, direct interaction with the patients, their families and the nursing staff, stocking and inventory of the floors, implementation of process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction surveys, training and supervision of a union hourly staff.
The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years food management experience, a strong working knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills. Prior food management experience in a health-care setting would be a plus for this role.

Position Summary:
Responsible for managing multi-functional food service areas in a single account/unit. May assume GM's responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in suppor! ting the financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfacti! on and good public relations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
