We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our PROS team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing physical health needs, conducting psychiatric assessments where required, and making appropriate referrals to community physicians. This role will provide management and administration of medication in conjunction with the Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. You will also participate in a range of rehabilitation and treatment services where needed. The RN will be part of an interdisciplinary team that practices recovery oriented treatment.
A! dditional Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Diagnosing and treating a patient’s unique response to diagnosed health problems
Providing group treatment services and counseling patients about maintenance of health and prevention of illness/complications which will include a caseload of eight to ten individuals
Executing and documenting medical regiments as prescribed by a licensed PROS physician which includes but is not limited to administering injectable medications
Maintaining log and inventory of, as well as overseeing the ordering and storage of injectable medications
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the NYS Education Department. Candidate must receive clearance by OMH (fingerprinting) and have experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (psychiatry) and individuals who have experienced issues related to drug and alc! ohol abuse. The qualified candidate should have experience with patients with mental health/substance abuse. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
This full-time position is located in Astoria; Hours are 8:30-4:30pm with some flexibility.
