Transfer Opportunity - Currently serving permanently in the Nurse 2 (Psychiatric) title and eligible for lateral tra! nsfer; OR in a comparable title and eligible for Section 70.1 or 70.4 transfer.
Open Competitive:
A license and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State AND either one year of full-time post-RN licensure clinical nursing experience of which six months must be specialized nursing experience with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, alcoholism, or chemical dependency; OR eighteen months of full-time post-RN licensure clinical nursing experience.
You must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. If you receive an appointment, your continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility. Failure to do so may result in the termination of your appointment.
If appointed you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number i! ssued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NP! PES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform.
Duties Description
As Nurse 2 (Psychiatric), you will provide professional nursing services appropriate to individuals diagnosed with mental illness. Nursing services include, but are not limited to:
nursing interventions and their documentation,
case finding,
health teaching/counseling,
provision of supportive and/or restorative care,
staff training,
clinical and administration report preparation,
maintenance of infection control standards, and
participation on a treatment team.
You may also act as a charge nurse. You may provide supe! rvision to subordinate professional, paraprofessional and support staff in the performance of their patient/resident care duties and be responsible for maintaining inventory standards for medicines, controlled drugs and narcotics.
The candidate will work 4 (10 hour) days per week and required to work 2 weekends out of 4.
