Assocate It Director

The IT Associate Director plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day activities within the IT Clinical Applications team and assists the Director in implementing operational policies and pr! ocedures and ensures operational efficiency is maintained throughout the department. This requires establishing goals, evaluating performance and defining deliverables/timeframes and interacting with various stake holders including clinical staff (nurses, physicians, etc.) and IT technical staff as well as internal and external resources. The scope will also encompass the management of clinical and technical aspects of the Clinical Applications.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of Clinical Applications team and the support of applications and proactively mitigate potential risks, devise contingency plans and escalate as appropriate.
- Supervise, hires, trains, and evaluates assigned staff. Works with employees to correct deficiencies, recommends and implements corrective action and discipline, as well as professional development. Manage staff, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and performance. !
- Assess user requirements and vendor product offerings and ! identify process and workflow changes required to meet the implementation goals.
- Assess and validate user and technical requirements and collaborate with the various clinical and IT subspecialties to ensure that the clinical and technical requirements of the applications/project are met.
- Manage internal and external resources in the specification, design, testing and implementation of Clinical Information system applications.
- Provide technical support and consultation on the installation, configuration, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing applicable software, hardware and peripherals devices, providing accurate reports with recommendations for improvements.
- Facilitate resolution of operational and workflow issues with the hospital clinical leadership and/or vendor application support staff.
- Perform post-implementation assessment to ensure that the functionality and performance of the system are optimal and implement remedial! actions and/or upgrades as needed.
- Insure all regulatory, patient safety and clinical practice standards are met.
- Oversees the execution of contract deliverables, approving or denying payment as appropriate and manages on-going vendor relationships.
- Assist with the development of long and short term goals for the department, which align with organizational goals.
Experience/Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of project management and/or managerial experience in Information Technology.
- Knowledge of clinical and operational hospital applications and integration strategies.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking and aptitude for problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing, computer science or its equivalent.
- A Master's deg! ree in business, computer science or related field.
