As a member of the healthcare team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assists in delivery of patient care by performing selected procedures, treatments and duties, taking into account the patient's special or age-related needs. Assumes responsibility for a safe environment and appropriate utilization of resources. This position will provide rapid response to patient/family needs and requests.
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or GED. Experience equivalent to 100 hours of patient care experience strongly preferred. Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served.
Skills/Abilities:
Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing. Evidences customer service skills consistent with GFH values and mission. Ability to follow directions; perform routine responsibilities in a flexible, self-directed manner. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as, instructions, policies, procedures. Basic math skills with ability to compute figures. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations :
BLS Certification, or obtained within orientation period.
