Practice Nurse

Under direction, coordinates patient care in the Institute for Bladder and Prostate Health at the Iris Cantor Men's Health Center; assesses, evaluates and recommends Standards of Care as it relates to patients and family along health care continuum; coordinates multidisciplinary services and arranges diagnostic tests as ordered by physicians; arranges blood work, x-rays and lab tests; calls in prescriptions; obtains surgical consent forms; prepares patient for therapy or surgery; documents health assessment data and plan of care; reviews and documents medical history; in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals, assesses data collections in decisions about plan of care; interprets lab results and radiological studies; instructs patient regarding medication administration and dosage and monitors reactions to medications; creates and reviews patient education materials for patients and staff; performs other job related duties as required. Qualifications
Must be a graduate of approved school of nursing and have a current New York State RN License; two or more years of clinical experience as a nurse in a physician practice or ambulatory care setting; current CPR certificate and ALCS/BLCS required; previous experience in an adult urology setting preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; excellent organization and communication skills.
