Location: Rochester New York

Description: St. Ann's Community is at the momment seeking for Kitchen Utility Assistant, right now, this career will be placed in New York. The primary purpose of your job is to assemble and deliver trays to Home & Heritage Residents & Home Connection Participants. Scrapes, racks, washes dishes, glassware and silverware f! or residents, employees and for other services.

Overall responsibilities can be broken down as follows

  • Reports to work in clean uniform, clean & proper shoes, hair net and name tag to meet Department Dress Code/Standards.
  • Places hot and cold food items on 375-400+ resident trays. Responsible for the general appearance of the tray.
  • Daily delivers 35+ food trucks to the nursing floors, the Heritage and the Home connection residents. Returns trucks and trays to Food Services.
  • Daily unloads, scrapes and racks dishware, glassware, beverage pots, silverware from 35+ resident tray trucks, cafeteria, dining room and special functions into dishmachine.
  • Unloads clean dishware, glassware and silverware items into appropriate storage carts.
  • Stores clean dishware, etc., in all service areas
  • Responsible for the preparation, proper handling and delivering of nourishments to eight (8) resident floors, the Heri! tage Dining Room, Heritage Nursing Office and the Home Connect! ion.
  • Assembles and portions beverage/food items for the meal service, such as milk, juice, milk shakes, etc...
  • During the meal service, is responsible for handling foods in a sanitary and safe manner.
  • Returns all beverage/food items to their proper storage area at the end of meal service.
  • After each meal service, delivers missing food items required by nursing for resident to specified floors, Heritage, Home Connection and anyplace directed by a supervisor.
  • Follows standard procedure in preparing the dish machine, soak sinks and other dish room set-up for the washing period.
  • Responsible for the cleaning after each meal, food trucks, dollies dish carts, lowerators other dish and trayline equipment, and trayline itself.
  • Must be knowledgeable in handling recyclable and non-recyclable and waste disposal, correct use of cleaning products, correct handling procedures of dishware, glassware, to reduce excessive breakag! e.
  • Meets Quality Assurance standards and attends mandatory In-service Training
  • Follows good safety, infection control and fire safety practices.
  • Responsible for reporting the malfunction of equipment.
  • Completes resident food evaluation checklist daily, during each meal.
  • Reports malfunctions of equipment, soiled Dining Room furnishing to Dining Room Supervisor and completes appropriate work orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Background

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10̢۪s and 100̢۪s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to appl! y common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instr! uctions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables. Must be able to handle emergency situations, complaints, and problems.
