Sodexo is seeking a Food General Manager for a high volume, 750 bed Nursing Home located in Roosevelt Island, NY. This account will be relocating to Harlem, NY within the next six months a! nd the bed count will decrease to approximately 365 beds. In this highly visible lead management role, you will direct and participate in all of the daily food contract operations for their resident dining. Responsibilities will include: working with budgets and unit financial reporting, strategic planning, marketing, training and development of a management team, HR functions, direct Client interaction and supervision of eight managers and 100 union hourly associates.
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years lead food management experience, a strong financial acumen, computer literacy, the ability to lead and develop a management staff as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience opening up new accounts would be a definite plus for this role. Prior food management experience in Long Term Care is highly preferred.
Position Summary:
Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/uni! t. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash cont! rol and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
