KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
The VHA Western N! Y Healthcare System has a full time position available for a Nurse Practitioner in Dermatology Department, Buffalo, NY. A

MasterÂ's Degree and license as a Nurse Practitioner from a State, accreditation by the NLNAC or CCNE, and full and current certification as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body is required.

Tour of Duty: Full Time Variable Days - subject to change based on Agency needs. May include some limited weekend coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
MasterÂ's Degree and license as a Nurse Practitioner from a State, accreditation by the NLNAC or CCNE, and full and current certification as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body is required. Experience in geriatric and primary care nursing preferred.

Applicant's education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be conside! red by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade an! d salary of the applicant selected. Experience as a RN will be evaluated to determine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following four dimensions of nursing:

Practice, Professional Development, Collaboration and Scientific Inquiry.

Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel. The criteria are as follows:

Education/Experience Requirements

:

Masters Degree in Nursing Science required.

ANCC certification required.

Nurse II - MasterÂ's degree in Nursing and approximately 1-2 years experience

Nurse III - MasterÂ's deg! ree in nursing and approximately 2-3 years of experience
